One of the great things about street photography is that it isn’t exclusively the domain of the professional, or the equipment-freak amateur. Anyone can go out with the simplest of cameras and just observe, quietly taking pictures, which often turn out to be valuable records of their time and that tell a story.
Witness to this is the story of Vivian Maier.
Vivian who? Read her amazing story “Found at Auction: The Unseen Photographs Of A Legend That Never Was” and see some of her wonderful pictures that turned up at an auction, undeveloped and unseen. (I can’t reproduce any of the pictures here for copyright reasons, but you really should go to the story and see them for yourself…)
When you have read her story visit Vivian Maier’s (posthumous) web site to see a full portfolio of her stunning work.
