After the disaster of a few weeks ago, when I accidentally formatted the external USB hard drive containing all of my photos and emails, I’ve surprised myself by being unexpectedly sanguine about it. The process of recovering the data is ongoing and will be for some time yet. Most of the data is there, but there will undoubtedly be some loss. What is there is largely unstructured, with much of the directory details gone. At least some of the data that I’ve dropped back into LightRoom is missing its editing history. And there’s a LOT of junk that’s stuff I’d previously deleted intentionally.

So, I’m in it for the long haul, but looking forward to capturing and editing new stuff, as much as retrieving the old material.

Speaking of new stuff, here’s a bit of nonsense I snapped on my phone in Llanfairfechan, yesterday.
