Born in 1953 in Liverpool, UK, I am now retired and live in Llanfairfechan, a small coastal town in North Wales, where I have lived since 1991.
I’m an amateur photographer and I’ll shoot whatever I find interesting, but I have a particular interest in street photography, and this is the main focus of this site.
There are many conflicting opinions about what constitutes street photography. Some photographers insist that street photography should include people; I disagree. I feel that street photography is a portrayal of the urban or suburban built environment, with or without people.
This can range from street art, through architecture and street furniture, abandoned objects to candid and posed portraits of people. You’ll find examples of all of these approaches in my work here.
I use various cameras: DSLR & Mirrorless (Olympus), Bridges (Canon, Fujifilm & Sony), Compacts (Fujifilm & Panasonic Lumix), and a Samsung Galaxy A12 cellphone. It doesn’t really matter what equipment you use, though; the photographer is ultimately responsible for the photograph, not the camera. (I admit to getting a bit of a buzz out of using different equipment.)
So, I humbly offer some of my images to you, hoping that you enjoy at least a few of them, as I enjoy the assorted brilliance I find elsewhere.
