I just went into Curry’s to ask about the warranty repair options for my Lenovo all-in-one PC’s HDMI port. I mentioned this in my previous post. As I thought, I have to take it into the store for shipping to the factory. There’s an average 28-day turn-around for factory repairs (eek!), or 7 days if I jump the queue and pay £9 per month for an extended warranty. But setting up the extended warranty can take anything up to 14 days, so it’s not that much better.

But the real kicker was when they said that the hard disk will be wiped & reset to factory state! Standard practice, apparently. The PC is set up exactly the way I want it. The thought of having to back it all up and restore it is galling.

I have a choice. I can choose to go through all this hassle, or I can accept that a second screen is no longer an option.

Fabulous.

Here’s another random recent image to be going on with.
